À propos de Patjiro

Mes expériences en Afrique et en Asie ont été une source d’inspiration profonde. J’ai particulièrement aimé la nature sauvage du nord du Kenya, la magie de l’Inde et la puissance de l’animisme au Japon.

En partant du livre du sculpteur Alberto Giacometti, “Les Écrits”, j’ai questionné la notion de “sculpture animée” avec le projet “Centaur”, qui a remporté le prix Giugiaro de l’innovation du Royal College of Art de Londres.

J’ai débuté ma carrière créative chez Honda à Tokyo. Durant ces années, j’ai pratiqué la calligraphie japonaise avec le maître Koyo Endo, m’imprégnant de la spontanéité et de la pureté du geste. Aujourd’hui, je travaille à main levée avec des matériaux tels que la terre, le bois et le métal. Tels les Tsuru (grues japonaises) qui dansent dans les neiges d’Hokkaido, mes œuvres se mettent en mouvement.

My experiences in Africa and Asia have been a profound source of inspiration. I particularly loved the wild nature of Northern Kenya, the magic of India, and the powerful animism of Japan.

Starting with the sculptor Alberto Giacometti’s book « Les Ecrits », I explored the notion of « Animated Sculpture » with the project « Centaur, » which won the Giugiaro Innovation Award from the Royal College of Art in London.

I began my creative career at Honda in Tokyo. During those years, I practiced Japanese calligraphy with the master Koyo Endo, focusing on the spontaneity and purity of the gesture. Today, I work freehand with materials such as clay, wood, and metal. Like the Tsuru (Japanese cranes) dancing in the snows of Hokkaido, my artworks are set in motion.
